“Every day these past weeks I try to go to my studio and work there as if it were normal, ordinary days. At home at night, after dinner, I walk around my house into an area, a building site where they create new nature or at least they try. I am not allowed to go there, I have to lift a fence aside every night to secretly walk into the area, the new nature, the manmade nature. You are not allowed to enter this nature area because it must first be ready, when it is, the fences go away and you are allowed to go there. Today I took my artwork “into nature”, this sculpture is titled “Unpacking”. In that sense the work is just like this nature area that has yet to be unpacked. Like in many of my works, this sculpture explores the balance between natural processes and human interference. In order to finish the area all we can do now is wait.”
